The healing properties of food have been reported by cultures worldwide throughout history and research is now showing specifically what health benefits certain foods can offer.

Many fruits, vegetables, and unprocessed whole foods have properties that can benefit our health. Scientists are now able to look beyond protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals and are focusing on chemicals in plants called phytochemicals that have strong health benefits including cancer prevention, cholesterol reduction, and hormone regulation.

Eating a diet full of vegetables, proteins, and healthy fats will support a healthy body.  I am also a firm believer in juicing.  Juicing provides your body with a blast of vitamins and minerals and is a great way to supplement your diet.  Click here to read about the benefits of juicing and to find out which juicer is the best.

Whole Body Cleansing

Cleansing has become a popular word these days and it is great to see people making the connection between exposure to chemicals in our food and environment and their health. After all, I think we can all agree that our bodies feel better after eating a healthy salad vs. a fast food cheeseburger, right?

Cleansing essentially means detoxification which refers to the process of eliminating toxins from your body. I believe cleansing should be a regular part of everyone’s health routine.

Nutritional Supplementation

Additional nutrients from supplements can help some people meet their nutrition needs. Nutritional supplements include vitamins, minerals, herbs, meal supplements, sports nutrition products, natural food supplements, and other related products used to boost the nutritional content of the diet.

Nutritional supplements are used for many purposes. They can be added to the diet to boost overall health and energy; to provide immune system support and reduce the risks of illness and age-related conditions; to improve performance in athletic and mental activities; and to support the healing process during illness and disease. However, most of these products are treated as food and not regulated as drugs are.
