"Hot in the City" takes on new meaning in Iran reaching 164 Degrees

This weekend in the news showed the Heat Index in Iran hitting 164 Degrees which is considered one of the hottest urban temperatures ever endured by humans. The heat index is what the temperature actually feels like considering both temperature and humidity.

The potential impacts of climate change are massive and devastating including but not limited to, loss of sea ice, accelerated sea level rise and longer, and more intense heat waves. “That was one of the most incredible temperature observations I have ever seen, and it is one of the most extreme readings ever in the world,” AccuWeather meteorologist Anthony Sagliani said in a statement.

Let this be yet another scientific warning for all the climate change deniers and a call to action to prevent further damage to our precious Mother Earth.
